On Wednesday, April 18, 2012, Zach Zappala spoke with Dr. Henry Pollack, a world-renowned geophysicist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. Dr. Pollack sits on the International Panel on Climate Change and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 alongside Al Gore and other climatologists who sit on the panel. He visited The College of NJ lecture on climate change, debunking myths and presenting his monumental research.

Dr. Pollack’s most recent book was published in 2010 and is called “A World Without Ice.”

Dr. Gary Fienberg is the Music Department Chair at The College of New Jersey. He also is an Assistant Professor of Music (Trumpet), Area Coordinator of Brass Studies, Director of Jazz Studies and Director of Brass Ensemble.

According to his biography from TCNJ.edu, Gary Fienberg is a trumpeter whose experiences range from the great concert halls of Europe to the orchestra pits of Broadway. His performance interests cover the complete range of possibilities for a contemporary trumpeter in classical, jazz and commercial music. He has performed with such artists as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, The Manhattan Transfer, Natalie Cole, Barry Manilow, The Temptations, Toots Thielmanns and many others.

Amanda Reddington and Melissa Radzimski had the opportunity to talk with him about the history of jazz from cultural, political, and racial perspectives.

On Wednesday, April 4, 2012, Melissa Radzimski and Amanda Reddington had the opportunity to talk with Kim Pearson (Associate Professor in the English Department at The College of New Jersey and the Chair of the African American Studies Department at The College of New Jersey).

A graduate of Princeton University and New York University, Kim Pearson is a well-established civic media researcher and journalist. During this program, she dissected ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) from a technical perspective and even touched upon the history of the Internet and computers. The conversation ended on a broad overview of modern day journalism and Internet activism.

He screened his film for the Trenton Film Society to a small and intimate audience in the historic Mill Hill Playhouse in Trenton, New Jersey.

Initially rejected by many film festivals, “In the Family” slowly began receiving profound buzz on the Internet. Due to some “brave” festivals as well as some committed audience members, Patrick Wang began receiving the attention and praise he deserves.
